Our
Board of Directors
is composed entirely of patient volunteers who have Lyme disease and other
tickborne co-infections.
We have come together from across the Nation to
unite in one cause; that being to offer support and education to all who
seek information concerning tickborne diseases.
Melanie Reber has been involved with patient support and
advocacy on local, state, national and international levels since 2003,
when she helped to co-found the Colorado Support System. In 2006,
with the passing of yet another TBD associated fatality, she merged her
profession as a Landscape Architect and her passion as a Lyme advocate by
initiating The National Lyme Disease Memorial Park Project.
Lucy Barnes has been involved with patient education and
support since the mid 1980's. She is the founder and
director of the Lyme Disease Education and Support Groups of America
and President of the non-profit group, "After The Bite",
organized in 1986.
Susan Williams is involved with advocacy in many areas.
Utilizing her degree in Community Health Education, in 2005 she founded
the non-profit organization Comfort 4
Kids. She currently serves as the Vice-President of Development for
the Texas Lyme Disease Association, and is also one of the main contributors with her writing skills
for the Public Health Alert, an integrative health publication on
chronic illnesses.
